Week 1 in the NFL features an intriguing AFC West matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers.
These teams faced off in Week 18 last season with the Raiders clinching a playoff spot in a 35-32 thriller and sending the Bolts to the golf links. The Raiders kicked a field goal with time expiring in overtime instead of settling for a tie, which would have resulted in both teams making the postseason.
With the young and hungry Chargers heavily motivated for this rematch, here are my best free NFL picks and predictions for Raiders vs. Chargers on September 10.

With another NFL season upon us and online sports betting sites being more competitive for recreational action than ever before, bettors should be maximizing their expected value book-to-book by taking advantage of the plethora of advanced sportsbook features.
Some are more useful than others, while some are just simple and easy ways to get better NFL odds. Either way, there is a wide range of features available, and I’m going to share the ones I think will have the most positive impact for bettors for the 2023 NFL betting season.

If you’re a regular reader of this weekly article, you might find yourself thinking, “What’s with this guy and Unders?”
Yes, I’ve been betting a lot of them and pointing to many Under trends in this article (as is the case again this week), and thankfully a lot of them have been hitting.
League-wide for the season, Unders are cashing at 61.5%. This is quite high for the midpoint of a season, and while I expect that number to dip in the second half, I’ll still gladly pound the Under when the NFL odds line up.
I’ve encountered a lot of people in real life and on social media who’ve told me they don’t like betting Unders, but I love them… I love watching that clock tick down, penalties on the offense, …
While many sharp sports betting types are quick to dismiss most betting trends for Super Bowl odds, I think there are plenty that are worthy of basing bets around. At the same time, many trends are mere coincidences and hold no relevance to the teams playing.
When it comes to Super Bowl LVIII, we’ve got a mix of each. We’ve seen trends for both the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers carryover from the regular season into the playoffs that are worth considering. We’ll also be flooded with silly ones related to the color of jerseys, who wins the coin toss, and the astronomy signs of each quarterback.
While the silly ones make for fun anecdotes, you shouldn’t be dipping into your betting bankroll to back them. We do, however, have a few credible tre…
London is calling with the New York Jets taking on the Minnesota Vikings.
Minnesota looks to remain undefeated with QB Sam Darnold getting a chance for redemption against his former team, but my Jets vs. Vikings predictions don’t expect a happy ending for him on Sunday.
Find out why in my NFL picks for October 6, and make sure to check out our Aaron Rodgers spotlight picks as well!

Oakland Athletics outfielder/designated hitter Brent Rooker was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday due to an injury that he sustained on Sunday. Rooker is dealing with a costochondral rib cartilage injury. He was hurt in the game against the Detroit Tigers on a checked swing and has missed the last three games, including Thursday's 1-0 road win over the Texas Rangers. Rooker, 29, is batting .200 with two homers, five RBIs and 16 strikeouts in 30 at-bats over eight games this season. Last season, Rooker was a surprise power source with 30 homers and 69 RBIs in 137 games. He batted .246 and made the American League All-Star roster. Oakland recalled utility man Max Schuemann from Triple-A Las Vegas to fill the roster opening. The 26-year-old was batting .174 in six games at…
Early on Sunday morning I was walking through my local park in south London, where around eight guys were playing football on the grass. At one stage, one of them ran clean through: round the keeper, goal at his mercy, only to roll the ball wide. “Daniel James!” he exclaimed to himself as he went to fetch it. “Daniel James,” he muttered again, shamefaced and still furious. And before long, all his mates were calling him “Daniel James” as well.
About eight hours later, the real Daniel James was charging towards goal at Stamford Bridge in that rapid but largely innocuous style of his. Has there ever been an attacking player who ran so fast while carrying so little perceived threat? When we think of the game’s great speed merchant…
Antonio Conte is not the arm-around-the-shoulder type when it comes to the hard business of omitting players from his starting XI because, frankly, where does it end? “I don’t like to give explanations to my players,” the Tottenham manager said before Saturday’s visit of Leicester. “Otherwise in every game I have to speak to one, to another one and another one.”
But Conte made an exception this week after leaving out Dejan Kulusevski for the third straight match – the 2-0 Champions League defeat at Sporting on Tuesday night.
“To drop Deki for three games in a row, honestly for me, it was difficult,” Conte said. “For sure, the first problem is for him because when I go home and I start to think [a…
Eddie Howe has revealed that Bruno Guimarães’s £100m release clause expires in the final days of June and hopes that will save Newcastle from a summer of transfer speculation centred on their Brazil midfielder.
“Having that was well planned and structured in the sense that there’s a finish point,” said Newcastle’s manager, who almost certainly has Dan Ashworth, the Manchester United-bound sporting director, to thank for inserting the cutoff when Guimarães’s contract was renegotiated last October. “We don’t want a summer of speculation. I don’t think that would be healthy for the player or for us.”

NFC East division preview 2024 predicted order of finish, record Philadelphia Eagles (12-5) If Saquon Barkley stays healthy, Philly avenges last year's collapse to extend the trend of a different division winner every year since 2004. Dallas Cowboys (11-6) MVP runner-up Dak Prescott and three-time top-3 DPOY finisher Micah Parsons may get their first trophies, but will Jerry Jones ever get his fourth? Washington Commanders (6-11) Washington last won a home playoff game on Jan. 8, 2000 — 11 months before the birth of potential franchise savior Jayden Daniels. New York Giants (4-13) Coach Brian Daboll looks slim, but so do New York's odds of winning its first division title since the 2011 squad that won Super Bowl XLVI.
