FIFPRO has condemned Roma for a mobbing campaign of Rick Karsdorp after head coach Jose Mourinho labelled the defender a traitor .

Mourinho made the comment following a 1-1 draw with Sassuolo in November, albeit without directly naming Karsdorp, though reports quickly identified the former Feyenoord man as his target.

Mourinho said there was one player who betrayed his team-mates and urged them to leave the club in January.

Karsdorp initially refused to train following his coach s comments, though he was later present as the club held a training camp in Portugal during the World Cup.

Raheem Sterling has been awarded an MBE for his services to racial equality in sport, with England team-mate Jordan Henderson similarly recognised in the Queen s Birthday Honours.

Well-known football journalist Duncan Castles has claimed that Leicester City think that Demarai Gray will join Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Castles has said that there is interest from Tottenham in the 24-year-old winger, but he has added that clubs from abroad are also looking at the former England Under-21 international.

Premier League clubs have agreed to five substitutions being permitted per match from the start of next season.

Teams in England s top flight were previously allowed to use five substitutes when football resumed in May 2020 following the first coronavirus pandemic shutdown.

However, despite the International Football Association Board (IFAB) recommending the rule stayed in place permanently, clubs have decided against it in previous votes.

But at a shareholders meeting on Thursday in which all 20 sides were represented, it was collectively decided that the rule should be reintroduced.
